About Treehouse Junior (K-2nd)(Volunteers)

Description:
This ministry provides an exciting and safe place for children (K-2nd) to learn more about how they are loved by God and where their walk with Jesus is nurtured and grown.

Commitment:
School Year (September - May)
Summer Session (June-August)

Roles:
  • Coordinator  | lead and support volunteers for weekend and midweek programs (e.g., AWANA), including recruitment, training, and pastoral care. Responsibilities include overseeing grade-level classes, curriculum, and special events, as well as preparing weekly Sunday worship lessons. The Coordinator will work closely with the Education Pastor to develop the children’s ministry at Church of Southland.
  • Sunday School Small Group Teacher | Support the leadership of the coordinator. Prepare, lead, and teach bible lessons of elementary/grade based small groups. Lead activities and crafts. Foster a welcoming environment. Assist with room set up and clean up. Ensure a safe space for kids and an encouraing team member to other volunteers.
  • Worship Leader | Support the leadership of the coordinator. Lead engaging, bible-based, age-appropriate worship songs for children. Responsibilities include selecting songs with the coordintor, coordinating with other ministry leaders for A/V, body worship (optional), encourage and teach kids son appropriate singing for worship.
  • Sunday School Assistant Teacher | Support the leadership of the coordinator. Assist the main teacher in the sunday school lesson. Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Assist with administrative tasks, inclding, attendance, managing supplies, and leading a class, in short spans of time when required. 
  • A/V Volunteer  | Support the children’s ministry by managing audio and visual equipment during elementary services. Responsibilities include running slides, videos, and sound to ensure a smooth, engaging worship and teaching experience.
Requirements:
To volunteer, you must be an active member of Church of Southland: 
  • Minimum 6 months of Church attendance
  • Regular Cell and Sunday Service attendance
  • EG (Completed Experiencing God Discipleship Classes)
  • Encounter Retreat
Current Need:
