Event: Yearly Awana Program
Dates: Every Friday, Sept 5, 2025 – May 15, 2026

Mandatory Volunteer Training:
Saturday, August 23 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Volunteer Attendance Expectation:
We value your commitment as an Awana volunteer and ask for all volunteers to arrive on time for each Club night, including the teachers’ meeting, which occurs before each club night. If frequent absences occur, we’ll connect with you to discuss how best to support your role on the team. 

Note: All staff and volunteers working with minors (in teaching, supervision, or care roles) must complete this application in full. Your information will remain confidential and is required to help ensure a safe environment for our children and youth. This includes background checks. 

An AWANA leader must be a member of Church of Southland who continuously fulfills the following expectations and criteria: (Please click all that apply.) 
If you are a college student, only #1-4 apply. (Add Southland's college pastor as one of your references in this application.)

Have a Heart of Service: Serve with humility, love, and a desire to help children grow in Christ.
Take Attendance & Accurately Record Memory Verse: Keep accurate records of attendance and student progress each week.
Serve as a Team: Collaborate with fellow volunteers and leaders to create a welcoming and unified environment.
Be Punctual: Arrive on time for all volunteer meetings and scheduled ministry times.
Prepare to Teach: Dedicate 1–2 hours each week to pray for your students and prepare AWANA materials before class.

Volunteer Ministry Covenant

Rejoicing in my baptism and celebrating God’s grace and gifts in my life, I resolve to minister within the community of this church as a servant of Jesus Christ as follows:
I.      I will support the witness of this church:

II.    I will serve the ministry of this church:
Ø  by seeking to discover and nurturing my gifts and talents
